I am definitely a risk 

your distrust is not unfounded

That which keeps me awake

at night

Thinking

wondering...

Should I give up

should I fight

To keep the flicker of trust ablaze

Amidst the turbulence of my nature

your nature

our circumstances

Yet I am desperate to have you believe

the words that I say

To trust in the completeness

of my goodwill and intent

But I know

I am definitely a risk

a risk worth taking

I beseech for your patience

for your understanding

because I am

a risk that needs to be taken

please give me your time

to build up my trust

because when it happens

we'll make a beautiful us.

I ask of your power of trust

That flows as the currency of electricity

That with very little persuasion

Opens and shuts doors 

That has before built relationships

and enlightened your soul

Yet it can sting your heart

and tear apart your soul,

if broken

I am desperate for your trust,

For I know

the gems that lie in its flower garden

That though trust is buried deep down under

It is easy to unearth

Let us cultivate it

Let it sow seeds for posterity

Sometimes

trust can seem as an illusion

but you cannot deny it

So let me look deep through your eyes,

Into the depths of your soul

And let me caress away

the embers of doubt

The spirit of let's -wait-and-see

Reach out to my outstretched arms,

And let us dance into the horizon

Carefree, carefully, happily

For I am a risk worth taking
