A new day dawns upon me
A ray streaks through the crack on the wall
The shields over my eyes open
I stare at the folds of well beaten iron sheet roof
Listening to gentle raindrops drum on the rusty roof
I almost cannot hear my thoughts running through my mind
A distant thunder rumbles through monotony of the rainfall
I notice a spider studiously weaving a new web
Can't help wonder if this master weaver felt insufficiency of its dwelling
Or weather it was another message from an agent of society
Asking me to get up and fold my sleeves for another day of hard toil
Telling me that it never is enough
Never really accomplished
I hear you, mighty spider
But not today
I won't listen to you today
I pull over my blanket
Shut my lids over my eyes with a wry smile
And I tell myself
Tomorrow is another day
Rome wasn't built in a day
